Which subjects are covered?

The bursary supports students who study and plan to teach in priority subjects, such as:

Foundation Phase (Grades 1–3)

  • isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, Xitsonga, SiSwati, isiNdebele, Afrikaans
  • Braille, South African Sign Language (SASL)
  • Neurodevelopmental Needs, Remedial Teaching

Intermediate Phase (Grades 4–6)

  • Mathematics, Natural Sciences & Technology
  • Braille, SASLS, Neurodevelopment, Remedial Teaching

Senior and FET Phase (Grades 7–12)

  • Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Agricultural Technology, Marine Sciences/Maritime Studies, Nautical Science
  • Information Technology, Technology, Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Technology, Computer Applications Technology, Technical Mathematics & Sciences, Engineering Graphics and Design
  • Braille, SASLS, Neurodevelopment, Remedial Teaching

Important:

  • Senior/FET students must take at least two FET subjects, or one FET and one Senior Phase subject.
