The bursary supports students who study and plan to teach in priority subjects, such as:
Foundation Phase (Grades 1–3)
- isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, Xitsonga, SiSwati, isiNdebele, Afrikaans
- Braille, South African Sign Language (SASL)
- Neurodevelopmental Needs, Remedial Teaching
Intermediate Phase (Grades 4–6)
- Mathematics, Natural Sciences & Technology
- Braille, SASLS, Neurodevelopment, Remedial Teaching
Senior and FET Phase (Grades 7–12)
- Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Agricultural Technology, Marine Sciences/Maritime Studies, Nautical Science
- Information Technology, Technology, Mechanical/Civil/Electrical Technology, Computer Applications Technology, Technical Mathematics & Sciences, Engineering Graphics and Design
- Braille, SASLS, Neurodevelopment, Remedial Teaching
Important:
- Senior/FET students must take at least two FET subjects, or one FET and one Senior Phase subject.
