Who manages the bursary?

  • DBE (Department of Basic Education): Sets policy and priorities.
  • NSFAS: Administers funding payments and recovers funds if needed.
  • Higher Education Institutions (HEIs): Assist students with applications and manage bursary payments.
  • Provincial Education Departments (PEDs): Place graduates in public schools once qualified.
