What is the Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme?

The Funza Lushaka Bursary Programme is a national initiative led by the Department of Basic Education (DBE) to help South Africa train more Teachers in critical subject areas.

It funds eligible students studying a 4-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree in priority subjects. In return, recipients must teach in a public school for the same number of years they received the bursary.
