What do the Inclinations Types mean?

The Inclinations Assessment uses the RIASEC model to show a Learner’s interests and strengths.

Each letter stands for a different Inclination Type:

R – Realistic
Enjoys practical, hands-on activities like building, fixing, or working with tools.

I – Investigative
Enjoys solving problems, exploring ideas, and working with science, maths, or research.

A – Artistic
Enjoys creativity, design, writing, music, or expressing ideas in unique ways.

S – Social
Enjoys helping, teaching, supporting, or working closely with people.

E – Enterprising
Enjoys leading, persuading, selling, or starting projects or businesses.

C – Conventional
Enjoys organising, planning, working with numbers, systems, or detailed tasks.

A Learner’s report may show one, two, or three top types. These types can help start conversations about subject choices and future pathways.
