Shared Reading

  • With Shared Reading, the Reading Champion reads WITH learners. This means they have a chance to repeat after you, read with you, or participate in the reading.
  • It is important that the learners can see the print, therefore try and use a BIG BOOK or give learners copies of the book to share.
Activity

Watch the instructional video that shows Grade 3s enjoying a Shared Reading activity.

Instructional Video: Shared Reading 
  1. Watch the following video (8.06)  of a Shared Reading activity with Grade 3s.
  2. Note down any new ideas you gained about Shared Reading from the video.

Turn to page 12 and 13 of your Reading Champions Manual to learn more about Shared Reading.
