Choosing suitable books

You need to prepare for a reading period beforehand. Part of the preparation is to think about the type and level of book you will choose to read to your learners. This will be covered in detail later in this training.

When you choose books for your learners, you must consider the following:

1. What things would your learners be interested in?
2. Which stories might relate to the learners’ lived experiences?
3. Which type of story would appeal to your learners?
