BEEI Phase V: Safety, Support & Professionalism in School Workshops
Introduction
As a Workshop Assistant placed in a school through the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) Phase V, you play an important support role in the technical and practical learning environment.
Your work helps Learners safely explore skills such as woodworking, metalworking, or other technical activities while keeping the workshop organised and hazard-free.
This training will prepare you to:
- Understand your responsibilities and limits in the workshop.
- Recognise hazards and follow safety rules.
- Handle and store tools and materials safely.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the workshop.
- Respond to accidents or emergencies.
Even if you don’t have a technical background, this training will guide you on how to contribute effectively while working under the supervision of a qualified Teacher.
This training does not qualify you to independently operate machinery, work with hazardous materials, or supervise Learners. Your role is to assist and ensure the environment is safe and ready for teaching.
