Reading Aloud Step-by-Step

BEFORE
  1. Introduce your story (title, author)
  2. Teach one or two new words that they will be hearing.
DURING
  1. Tell the story clearly with expression, using gestures and movement.
  2. Stop every now and then to ask a question or check the learners’ understanding.
AFTER
  1. Review the story by asking WHAT, WHY, WHEN and HOW questions.
  2. Ask the learners to retell the story in the correct sequence.

Turn to page 10 and 11 of your Reading Champions Manual to review Reading Aloud.
