Roles and responsibilities in the Reading Champions programme
There are four main role players in the Reading Champions programme. These are:
Principals
As the key person at a school, the principal needs to fully support the reading programme, and make sure that it operates smoothly.
Reading Champion coordinators
Provide support to the Reading Champions at school and community level and are the point of communication between them and the district.
Teacher mentors
Their purpose is to support the Reading Champion(s) assigned to them.
Reading Champions
Their purpose is to promote a reading culture in schools and communities.
