# What is the DBE-E³’s Introduction to Project-Based Learning Programme?

Project-Based Learning (PBL) has been identified by the DBE as one way of teaching that can help prepare, upskill and future-proof learners.

The goal of the ‘Introduction to Project-Based Learning’ programme is to enable teachers to help learners identify and solve problems, work effectively as individuals or as part of a team, be organised, understand important information and be able to use it wisely, and to be able to take care of themselves and of others. By guiding South Africa’s learners to have a good understanding of the working world and how a healthy society works, we are enabling them to solve real-life problems and readying them for their futures.
